Anchor Threads
Choosing the Right Thread for the Right Work
-
Cross Stitch – Most commonly done with Anchor Stranded Cotton. Usually, 2 strands are used on Aida fabric (14 count), but this can vary depending on the desired coverage.
-
Surface Embroidery – Can use either Pearl Cotton for texture or Stranded Cotton for finer work.
-
Hardanger / Whitework – Pearl cotton is preferred because it’s strong and holds structure.
-
Metallic Accents – Use Anchor Metallic to add sparkle to motifs.
-
Tapestry or Canvas Work – Use Anchor Tapestry Wool for thickness and durability.
